[Ferro-Alloys.com] It is reported that imports for manganese ore at Lianyun port expanded to 625.1 thousand tons in 2014, registering an increasing of 15.52% based on the same period of last year. Among of this, manganese ore from South Africa and Ghana accounted to 90%, especially for Ghanaian manganese ore, surging by 292% y-o-y. In fact, Ghanaian manganese ore became as the biggest growth at Lianyun port in 2014.

In recent years, manganese ore imports at Lianyun ports from South Africa always kept the top level with 379.7 thousand tons and 399.5 tons thousand tons in 2013 and 2014 respectively occupying 67% and 64% of the total. As for Ghanaian manganese ore , imports at Lianyun port in China surged to 162.7 thousand tonsin 2013 from 41.5 thousand tons in 2013.
