In recent period, ex-work price of silicon manganese 6517 tumbled at RMB5,000-5,200/mt in China and RMB4,500-4,600/mt for 6014. Price of high carbon ferromanganese 65 was quoted at 4,300-4,500/mt while RMB7,200-7,400/mt for medium carbon ferromanganese 75C2.0. Low carbon ferromanganese 80C0.7 was quoted at RMB8,800-8,900/mt.

In fact, trimming purchase price of HBIS also indicated excess supply for ferromanganese fail to improve. As for purchase volume, the company put purchase volume on 78C2.0 increase by 580 tons to 1,680 tons, while 781.5 decreased by 360 tons to 720 tons. Meanwhile, the company planned to purchase 1,080 tons of Low carbon ferromanganese 800.7 which basically in line with the prior month, and 160 tons for 800.4from only 80 tons for July. As for silicon manganese market, fierce competition amid flat demand further push down sale, it is predicted that manganese alloy in August would likely to keep tumbling.
